That Boy of Mine.

08 May 2010

All about Dash. Just because he's so cute.
What he likes to say: Not too much but when he does talk, it's OMGoodness cute.
"What is that?"
"Cuckoo!"
"Uh Oh."
"Ewwwww!"
"Shoe"
"Mom"
"Daddddy"
"Ball"
"Doggy"
"Snow"
"Who is that?"
"Goooo"
"Stop"
"Don't"
What he likes to do: Everything! But especially,
wear hats
go down slides
SWIM
paint
run
jump
take baths
EAT
smell flowers
watch Kipper
his blankies (all 3 of them)
snuggle
drink milk in the morning
eat watermelon, lots and lots of watermelon
jump in puddles
see animals
blow bubbles
spit like his daddy
ride piggyback down the stairs in the morning
go on airplanes
scavenge for snacks in the pantry
eat crayons
eat corndogs in the car
see his aunts, uncles and grandparents and cousins
brush his teeth with mommy's toothbrush
read books
give hugs and kisses to every little girl he sees
blow kisses
share popsicles with his daddy
cutie's ice cream (lactose free!)
kiss his glow worm
A few things he could live without:
mustard
waking up early for church
nursery
getting his hair done
too small shoes
sitting still for anything
sleeping in his crib
grocery shopping
babysitters
the vaccuum
not being within 3 feet of his mommy
having to get out of the pool for safety break

My favorite things about that boy:
his big brown eyes
his first smile of the day
his sticky out ears
his mischeviousness
how he yells at us if we're arguing until we stop
how he stomps when he's happy
how he sings in church
the grumpy look
how he says "la la" for no reason at all
how he wants to try everything and anything
how he dips his food in whatever he can
how he insists on using silverware
how giganticly huge his feet are
the way he claps when he likes something
how he refuses to wear pants or cover up with a blanket
how he's so much like his daddy
how he falls on his bum just so you'll say "pooor babbby"
if you're not coming fast enough he turns around and encourages you
the way he dances
he nods instead of just saying yes
he shakes his head instead of saying no

Butterfly Pavillion

15 April 2010

Dash and I are without Jake for a couple of weeks so we decided to explore Denver. Today we went to the Butterfly Pavillion and it was super fun! Lots of butterflies and tarantulas. I liked the butterflies better than the tarantulas, but Dash liked the spiders. We bought a bunch of cool butterflies made from feathers and brought them home and put them all over his bedroom ceiling.. he came in his room and said .. "wowWOWwhatisTHAT!?"

We haven't painted his room yet, but at least now it has a little personality : )

Grammmpa

Grandpa Lewis came for a visit. Dash LOVES his grandpa and they had a lot of fun hiking and hanging out together. One morning we got tacos from the taco truck and took them up to Daniel's Park for a picnic.

Chasing grandpa with a fly swatter that he insisted on bringing with him!

Nonna and Nona in California

01 April 2010

We went to California last minute this past week to visit Jake's Grandparents. His Grandpa ("Nonna" in Italian) is very sick and he's very special to us so we wanted to spend some time with him. Jake's whole family on his father's side was able to come as well. Dash found his new, true BFF in his cousin Mattia who is a year older than him.
Dash with his uncle Joe. Joe is Jake's younger brother by 2 years and lives in Florida so we don't get to see him too often, but we sure love him.

Dash, Joe, Jared (Jake's youngest brother) and Gioia (Jake's youngest sister).
Jared.. just came home from his 2 year mission to Argentina 4 months ago.

My incredible father-in-law Daniele and two of his siblings - Graciela and Marco.
Daniele's youngest brother Luca and his youngest daughter Sarah - she's 4 months younger than Dash.
Dash and Jon, Jake's oldest brother. Can you believe he's still single with that smile?
Everyone came for Nonno. He's so loved!

Dash's cousins Mattia (1 1/2) and Sarah (14 months).
